Mia's birthday portraits

And before the scent of burnt candles has even had a chance to dissipate on the wind...it's time for Medlin Number Two's big day! My sweet baby girl will be one in a little over a week. It's hard to realize. Today I got all fancy and experimented with some "studio" shots... despite my crude efforts, the photos came out quite nice. Here she is in her party duds. She definitely loves the camera!

Thanks--I'm a complete "faker." I have no money for real equipment and wouldn't have a clue how to use it if I did...I just set up in the kids' playroom which is flooded with natural light from three sides, and took the shade off a lamp and placed it on the floor, level with her face. You can actually see the reflection of the playroom windows in the balloons. Ha!

Her pictures are awesome! You did a great job! You wanna take Jacob's for me here in a month? :D

Yes, actually. I'd love to do that. We'll just pick a Saturday when maybe Robb can take your kids and mine out in your yard to minimize distractions, we will gather props and backdrop, and go to town! Can you tell I love photographing kids?
